Trek Langtang Gosaikunda

Trekking in Langtang region is interesting because it offers trekkers beautiful alpine valley and some pilgrimage sight for both Hindus/Buddhists. It is situated in middle northern Himalayan part as first himalayan National park established in 1976 . The scared lake of Gosaikunda is well known pilgrimage sight & attraction of the region.

Langtang Gosaikunda trek drives you through wide range of  white capped mountains, hike through ups & down hills, spending night in tea houses with fresh local food made in fire wood, peoples with Tibetan-Buddhist culture, their warm greet & innocent smiles. Overall, you will experience something different for your lifetime.

Day wise Itinerary

Day Trip Description Detailed Itinerary
Day 1  Arrive Kathmandu  Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel on B/B basis.
Day 2 Kathmandu – Nuwakot

(3 hours)

Morning drive to Nuwakot by bus (3hours). Night in Lodge.
Day 3  Nuwakot – Syabrubesi

(1450 m)

 Then transfer to  Syabru Besi (1450 m) by  minibus. Night in lodge.
Day 4 Syabrubesi – Lama Hotel We start the trek to Bamboo then continue to Lama Hotel. Night in Lodge.
Day 5 Lama Hotel – Mundu

(3541 m – 5:30hours)

Continue to walk through a beautiful forest to Mundu. We can see impressive views of Langtang II and Langtang Ri. Night in Lodge/teahouse.
Day 6 Mundu – Kyanji Gompa

(3900 m – 3hours:30)

Short but very beautiful day of walking to reach Kyanjin Gompa, last village of Langtang. We are at the foot of the peaks of Langtang. Night in Lodge.
Day 7  Kyanji Gompa Rest day & visit Kyanji Gompa Night in lodge.
Day 8 Kyanji Gompa – Lama Hotel

(6 hours)

Walking down to the Lama Hotel. Night in lodge.
Day 9 Lama Hotel – Thulo Syabru

(2200 m  – 5 hours:30)

We continue walking to the Pairo Thaplo village. From there, we go up to the village of Thulo Syabru, one of the most beautiful Tamang villages. Night in lodge.
Day 10 Thulo Syabru – Sin Gompa (3300 m – 5 hours) From Thulo Syabru, we start walking through traditional hamlets to reach Sin Gompa. Night in lodge.
Day 11  Sin Gompa – Gosaikunda Lake (4381 m – 6 hours:30) We climb up a small pass from where we can see impressive views of Ganesh Himal, Manaslu and the famous chain of Annapurnas. We continue walking to reach lake Gosaikunda. Night in Lodge.
Day 12 Gosaikunda Lake – Gopte (3430 m – 5 hours) We climb up Gosaikund pass (4600 m) and descend on a pleasant trail to Gopte (3430 m), a small village.

Night in lodge.

Day 13 Gopte – Kutumsangu     (2471 m – 5 hours:30) We pass through Tharepati to reach the Helambu area. The views of the Himalayan chains and the sherpas villages are beautiful. Night in lodge.
Day 14 Kutumsangu – Chisopani (2160 m – 6/7 hours) Long walking day to reach Chisopani Night in lodge.
Day 15 Chisopani – Sundarijal – KTM (1400 m – 2hours:30) Last pass of Borlang Banjyang (2430 m). Then we reach the valley of Kathmandu by the Park of Shivapuri and a beautiful forest of rodhos until Sundarijal. Road to Kathmandu (45 min) Night in hotel on B/B basis.
Day 16  Departure  Departure transfer.
